Measuring the fitness of kids with autism spectrum disorder – The FitKids Study

What is this study about?

The study is looking at the fitness of 7-12 year old children with autism spectrum disorder. More specifically, we are looking at seven different fitness assessments that test children’s aerobic functioning, anaerobic functioning, muscular strength, muscular power, and flexibility. These include a running test (both on and off a treadmill), a walk test, cycling, jumping, stretching, and grip strength. The purpose of the study is to examine which of these tests are best suited for children with ASD.

Would my child and I be able to take part?
